Frequently Asked Questions

Is there anything I need to do regarding this change?
No, not specifically. We recommend you log-in to your new-look portal and familiarise yourself with your new website. Your investment funds have not changed.
Why has the brand changed?
In November 2022, Kiwi Wealth became part of Fisher Funds, New Zealand’s most trusted KiwiSaver provider* with over 25 years of experience helping Kiwis achieve their ambitions. Over the past 12+ months, our team has been hard at work bringing the two businesses and brands together under the Fisher Funds brand. This change is the culmination of all that work to date.
Are my fees changing?
No, we’re not increasing your fees. There is no change to the total expected fees you currently pay on your KiwiSaver investment. We’ll be changing the way we charge the fees so you can benefit from potential reduced total fees as the Scheme’s funds grow.
For more information on what this means for your KiwiSaver investment, please read the section 'Changes to how we account for fees' below in our March 2024 update.
What is my KiwiSaver or Managed Fund Scheme now called?

The Kiwi Wealth KiwiSaver Scheme is now renamed Fisher Funds KiwiSaver Plan, and Kiwi Wealth Managed Funds is now renamed Fisher Funds Investment Funds.
Where can I view my balance?
Your balance(s) can be found in your new-look portal at my.fisherfunds.co.nz. You can also view a range of other information in your portal and update your contact information.
How can I change my investment strategy?
You can opt to change your investment strategy in your new-look client portal here
Where can I see my fund performance?
You can view the investment performance of your fund in your new-look portal. You will also receive monthly updates, quarterly reports, and annual statements.
What other changes are coming?
In the coming months you will have access to a new client portal and the Fisher Funds Mobile app. We will be in touch with more information when these are ready for you.
Why can’t I join Fisher Funds Investment Funds?
We are no longer accepting new investors into Fisher Funds Investment Funds (previously known as Kiwi Wealth Managed Funds). If you’re an existing investor you can still contribute, switch funds, and make withdrawals. You will not be able to open a new account. After 6 April, we'll be closing Investment Funds accounts with a zero balance.
What is changing for Private Portfolio Service (PPS) clients?
You can find out what’s happening for Private Portfolio Service clients here.
I’m a Kiwibank customer. Will I still be able to see my KiwiSaver balance in my Kiwibank app?
Yes. Your KiwiSaver balance will still be visible in your Kiwibank app.
Can I transfer my Fisher Funds KiwiSaver Plan to another provider?
Yes. KiwiSaver is a government savings scheme and members are able to choose who their KiwiSaver provider is. If you wish to transfer to another provider, you can do so by visiting that provider's website and apply to join their KiwiSaver scheme.
Will the move to the Fisher Funds brand affect my ability to make a withdrawal?
No. You can still make a withdrawal.

What else you need to know:

Kiwibank customers
If you're a Kiwibank customer, you will still be able to see your KiwiSaver balance when logging into internet banking.
Product name changes

Some important changes about your Kiwi investment

As we continue to work to transform your experience from Kiwi Wealth to the Fisher Funds brand, we have some important changes changes that are now in place for you to be aware of.

Changes that are now in place for the Fisher Funds KiwiSaver Plan (formerly Kiwi Wealth KiwiSaver Scheme)

Product and Manager name change
The Kiwi Wealth KiwiSaver Scheme has changed its name to the Fisher Funds KiwiSaver Plan. The name of the Manager (the company managing your investment) will also change from Kiwi Wealth Limited to Fisher Funds Wealth Limited. You will see these changes in all communications, reports, and documents from March 2024.
Changes to how we account for fees
No, we’re not increasing your fees. There is no change to the total expected fees you currently pay on your KiwiSaver investment. We’ll be changing the way we charge the fees so you can benefit from potential reduced total fees as the Scheme’s funds grow.

Firstly, standard fund expenses (things like auditing costs, administration costs etc) will no longer be paid from the Management Fee and will now be paid directly from the funds and classified as ‘Other Fees’. These expenses are estimated under what we call ‘Other Fees’.
Secondly, we’ve reduced the Management Fee to offset the standard fund expenses that will now be classified as "Other Fees" mentioned above. The net result is no change in the estimated fees on your KiwiSaver investment.
‘Other fees’ have always existed. There are no new fees being introduced.
Here is a summary to show these changes:

Here is an example of fees in action:
Joe invests $10,000 in the Balanced Fund. An estimate of Joe’s fees for the first year using the old way of calculating fees compared to the new way is as follows:

Amendments to the Trust Deed
The trust deed has been amended to reflect the new Scheme and Manager names. In addition to this, we have made the following changes to the trust deed:
  • Allow for the appointment of separate auditors to audit the Register of investors of the Scheme and the Financial Statements of the Scheme.
  • Provide us with the ability to suspend withdrawals where the supervisor consents, in order to protect the interests of members as a whole. This does not mean you can’t withdraw your investment (within the usual KiwiSaver parameters). This clause is in place to cover the very rare situation where withdrawals may need to be suspended. Any suspension would be temporary and you would be notified of this.
  • To allow the Manager to determine a future winding up date in the event that a fund or the Scheme needs to be wound up. This will facilitate the orderly wind-up of a fund or the Scheme, should it be required.
  • Introduce a new maximum Manager’s fee of up to 1.5% for any new funds established. This does not mean we’re increasing your fees. The new maximum Manager’s fee of up to 1.5% only applies to new funds that may be established in the Scheme. It does not apply to any existing funds you are invested in.

A copy of the latest Trust Deed can be found on the Kiwi Wealth website.
A new Disputes Resolution Provider
We’ve moved from the Insurance and Financial Services Ombudsmen to Financial Services Complaints Limited, so we have the same provider for all Fisher Funds schemes.

Changes that are now in place for the Fisher Funds Investment Funds (formerly Kiwi Wealth Managed Funds)

Changes to how we calculate your investment’s performance
We are changing the way we calculate your investment's performance to include your activity (your contributions and withdrawals). This provides a more accurate reflection of your investment's performance and brings it more in line with the industry standard.

To achieve this, we are moving from a Time Weighted methodology to a Money Weighted methodology. The Money Weighted methodology provides a more accurate reflection of your personal investment performance. It looks at several factors, including your investment mandate (the percentage you invest in each of the funds), your investment activities (including the impact of the contributions and withdrawals you make), and the tax you pay.
Scheme and Manager name change
The Kiwi Wealth Managed Funds has changed its name to the Fisher Funds Investment Funds. The name of the Manager (the manager of the Scheme) has changed from Kiwi Wealth Limited to Fisher Funds Wealth Limited. It’s still the same Scheme and Manager, just new names. You will see these changes in all communications, reports, and documents from 6 March 2024.
New daily pricing
We’re excited to announce that we’re making some changes to the administration of the Kiwi Wealth Managed Funds (now known as the Fisher Funds Investment Funds). This means that the Funds will be priced each business day, giving you more frequent valuations of your investments and transaction processing.
Amendments to the trust deed
The trust deed has been amended to reflect the new Scheme and Manager names and also to clarify we can appoint different auditors for the Register and Scheme audits.

A copy of the latest Trust Deed can be found on the Fisher Funds website
No longer accepting new investors
We are no longer accepting new investors into the Kiwi Wealth Managed Funds (now known as the Fisher Funds Investment Funds). As an existing investor, you can still contribute, switch between Funds within the Scheme, and withdraw your money, however, you won’t be able to open new investment accounts.
A new Disputes Resolution Provider
We’ve moved from the Insurance and Financial Services Ombudsmen to Financial Services Complaints Limited, so we have the same provider for all Fisher Funds schemes.
Changes to the client portal
Your online account will look different, and where you log in has now changed to fisherfunds.co.nz. Your login details remain the same. Visit myFisherFunds to log in and confirm that your personal details are up to date. A new and improved portal is coming later this year.
